VTT Functional materials industrial work shop 2010
 |
|
24 September 2010,
Espoo, Finland
Address:
Metallimiehenkuja 2, Espoo (building nr. 10 in the map)
Material development has an important role as an enabling technology for solving global technological problems. Functional materials
are already today an essential part of our everyday life and there is an expectation of strong growth in the future. The economic impact of the development of functional
materials is expected to be substantial. The major trends in material technology are minimisation of environmental impact, energy conservation, product differentiation
and the demand for more user friendly products. The aims of materials research at VTT is to provide its customers with technology that enables the products to be made with
higher functionality, develop competitive production methods, and add value to products in order to help them stand out from those of competitors.

Structural change of industry has rapidly accelerated VTT´s materials research, making it one of VTT´s core fields of activity focused upon enabling nanotechnology and functional material
technology in various industrial applications, tailored biomass-based materials and materials for emerging energy technologies.
The VTT Functional Materials Industrial Workshop will give an overview of the broad competence at VTT with regard to functional materials. The workshop is free, but places are limited and restricted to industrial representatives.
