Spin-offs managed to raise record high new capital in 2010

Spinoffs managed by VTT Ventures Ltd raised approximately €4,3 million of new
capital in 2010 which is twice as much as the year before. VTT Ventures share
of the new capital was roughly one million euros. Majority of the new
investments came from domestic venture capital funds. The highest single
investment for one company last year was €1,2 million. One of the portfolio
companies received an investment from a foreign venture capital fund. This was
the first time a foreign investment fund invested in VTT spin-offs. Two new
spinoffs received funding last year including Hookie Technologies Oy and
FocalSpec Oy.
