Multiscale modelling and design for engineering applications seminar
VTT Auditorio, KCL-talo, Tekniikantie 2, Espoo
We have a ready answer, we are in a quest of a correct question… but if our answer is wrong we are willing to find new solution in our next operational year
MULTISCALE MODELLING AND DESIGN FOR ENGINEERING APPLICATION
-
Material Modelling -moorning
- Multiscale Design -afternoon
Numeric modelling has been used to optimize single scale processes over decades. The rapid increase in computational power has enabled combining modelling tools and thus a more comprehensive phenomena understanding. As a research institute of applied research VTT has taken a major step towards multiscale modelling of real industrial processes & phenomenas.
We invite you to hear the outcomes from a first year of a VTT innovation program Multiscale Design, where know-how in different disciplines of technologies is combined. Volume of the program was over 5 million Euros during the year 2012. In this program we are creating tools and approaches for the single processes to discuss and to merge with each other. Our goal is to raise the Finnish multi-dimensional modelling to the top of the world.
The way we work:
- Finding the critical points using case examples
-
Consistent practices (methodology) development
- Sensitivity to
customer needs listening
- Material and component development into
cost-efficiency and life-cycle models
