Eco-Efficient Production

The aim of the project Eco-efficient Production is to develop a method for evaluating and developing ecoefficiency of production in the Finnish manufacturing industry, in a clean production context.

The project focuses in combining both the ecological and the economical point of view, and by this approach aims at improving the competitiveness of the companies. In the project, the significance and increase of weighting of eco-efficiency is being evaluated. Also, the existing tools for ecoefficiency development are being evaluated.

A goal of the project is to develop a method for simultaneous development of eco-efficiency and economy of production. The developed method will be evaluated in field trials.

The project will be carried out between 1.8.2008-31.5.2010 as a project of the Tekes SISU 2010 Innovative Manufacture technology programme. Project budget is 667 k€.

VTT is searching international researcher mobility as well as international co-operation with the other on-going projects in the field where the VTT researchers are currently participating.
