Evaluation of thruster vibration with virtual modelling

Challenge: Prediction of thruster vibrations in real operational conditions is a challenge.


Solution: VTT and ABB developed modelling methods which covered the most significant factors and phenomena affecting on the vibration behaviour of the Azipod thruster. The results were verified by full-scale experiments.
