Cleaner bus traffic by minimizing exhaust gases

Customer: Kabus

Challenge: Bus manufacturer Kabus wanted to reduce the discharge of exhaust gases and the consumption of fuel of their vehicles.

Solution: A hybrid bus which combines an electric motor and a combustion engine. VTT coordinated, dimensioned and integrated the solution. The bus is put to serial production in the near future.

Key benefits: 30% reduction in fuel consumption, 30% reduction in exhaust gases. Due to the lighter structure of the bus, even reductions up to 45% can be expected when compared to traditional buses.
