Simulation model boosts R&D process development

Challenge: Product development processes are complex and depend more on people than machines, bringing challenges to R&D process simulation and development.
Solution: Nokia and VTT developed system dynamic model asset which analyses and specifies cause and effect relations in product development, including technical, human and financial structures. The model asset was tested and evaluated by hundreds of people as Product Creation Game, in which the participants are challenged to apply their skills in intensive operational decision making, while gaining insight to the complex business interactions through hands on exercise.

The model asset can be used for process optimisation, management, improvement
and reengineering as well as for coaching.
