Challenge: How to develop quartz resonators in order to reduce the size and weight of electronic devices and improve their performance.

Solution: Developing a new micro-resonator in which the quartz crystal is replaced with silicon.

Key benefits: A hundred times smaller resonator, enabling smaller and lighter devices. Signal quality is superior to quartz crystal and the performance is extremely stable. Opening up new opportunities e.g. for miniature wireless devices, biometric identifiers and slimmer displays.
