Functional surfaces

The program develops active functional material solutions that enable new types of functional products for a broad sector of industry. The focus areas are:

1) Biomimetic materials: Self organizing, self cleaning, self lubricating, biomimetic actuation and anti-ice materials;

2) Multimaterial solutions: Materials for thermal spraying, functional light structures and plastic materials for embedded intelligence; and

3) New materials for energy technology: Electrochemical energy conversion and storage, energy harvesting materials, materials for hydrogen storage and high-voltage insulation
