Automotive technologies

We carry out research, development, prototyping and testing of automotive subsystems and sub functions. One of the most important areas is ICT technologies, which enable more intelligent vehicle applications.

VTT has good expertise and references in Noise Control and Semi-Active Vibration Control. We are active in efforts to reduce energy use and emissions in transport and traffic, along with their environmental impacts. We have good testing facilities for this specific research area.

VTT has also developed fuel cell technology. We have concepts and solutions for environmental footprint issues, and Green Car concepts.

Our services include concept planning of new solutions, modelling and simulation, and demanding tests to verify achieved functionalities and performance.

We offer services for fast-paced contracts or long-term development projects and efficiently combine the best expertise for customer projects. We help our customer to utilise the newest technology in the best possible way.

We offer expertise in the following areas:
