BIM-based EU-wide standardized qualification framework for achieving energy efficiency training

About us

​​BIMEET brings together nine partners around BIM technology as a key digital support for the energy efficiency of the built environment. The participants include Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), Cardiff University, Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB), Building Research Establishment Ltd (BRE), La plateforme Formation & Évaluation de l'INES, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, House of Training, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Center For Renewable Energy Sources (CRES).

Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST)

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is a mission-driven Research and Technology Organization (RTO) that develops advanced technologies and delivers innovative products and services to industry and society. As a major engine of the diversification and growth of Luxembourg's economy through innovation, LIST supports the deployment of a number of solutions to a wide range of sectors, including energy, IT, telecommunications, environment, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing at national and European level. Thanks to its location in an exceptional collaborative environment, namely the Belval Innovation Campus, LIST accelerates time to market by maximizing synergies with different actors, including the university, the national funding agency and industrial clusters.

Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB)

The CSTB Formations is the CSTB training organization for more than 40 years. We rely on the expertise of CSTB's trainers as well as our partners. The diversity of their occupation gives the CSTB Formations a multidisciplinary approach: engineers, Executive Direction Assistants, auditors, Architects, engineering department experts, sociologists, legal experts, etc.

The training provision of the CSTB Formations aims at helping the actors of the construction sector to cope with the ongoing changes, such as the digital transition or even the environmental transition.

This training provision contains a large range of inter-company training courses, related to regulatory and policy issues, but also technical, environmental and society matters. All the training sessions can be tailor-made for specific demands.

The CSTB's strategic position within the construction sector, as well as our expertise in training engineering, make us a key partner to increase the skills of professionals. The CSTB Formations training sessions help to improve performance and to differentiate your business from the competition.

Building Research Establishment (BRE)

BRE is a multi-disciplinary building science centre with a mission to improve the built environment through research and knowledge generation. It was founded in 1921 as a UK government laboratory but was privatised in 1997 and is now owned by the BRE Trust, which is the largest UK charity dedicated specifically to research and education in the built environment. The Trust uses all profits made by the BRE Group to fund new research and education programmes that help to meet its goal of 'building a better world together'. Products delivered by the BRE Group include BREEAM, a sustainability assessment method for masterplanning projects, infrastructure and buildings, and LPCB which sets standards for fire and security products. The BRE Academy is BRE's training arm and provides on-line and classroom based courses and learning materials developed by BRE and industry experts with a particular focus on BREEAM, BIM and fire safety.

La plateforme Formation & Évaluation de l'INES

INES is the reference center in France, and one of the first in Europe, dedicated to research, innovation and training on solar energy. Set up with the support of the Savoie Departmental Council and Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, it hosts teams from the CEA (the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) and the University of Savoie, and is supported by the CNRS (The National Center for Scientific Research) and the CSTB (Scientific and Technical Center of Building). INES currently employs 300 staff, a figure that will rise to 500 engineers and scientists, on a 22,000-m² site equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

In addition to its solar and building R&D activities, INES has set up a Training & Evaluation Division. It provides a wide range of initial and continuing training courses on thermal and photovoltaic solar energy and building efficiency, in regards to academics and industries. The department also carries out monitoring of solar installations and buildings and offers its expertise to professionals of the sector.

Center for Renewable Energy Sources (CRES)

The Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES) is the Greek organisation for Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Rational Use of Energy (RUE) and Energy Saving (ES). It is a public entity, supervised by the Ministry of Environment and Energy, and has been appointed as the national co-ordination centre in its area of activity. CRES operates in two main fields:

  • As the National Energy Centre, working on energy planning and policy for RES, RUE and ES in accordance with the policy of the Ministry and developing the necessary infrastructure for the realisation of RES/RUE/ES investment projects.
  • As a Research and Technological Centre for RES/RUE/ES, through applied research on new energy technologies and by technically supporting the market for the penetration and implementation of these technologies.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is the leading research and technology company in the Nordic countries. House of Training

Founded in 2015, the House of Training offers a broad range of continuous vocational training courses in a large variety of sectors and domains. Its main objective is to provide training courses for companies which, by improving the skills and competences of their staff, want to tackle existing and future challenges and develop their business. The House of Training is also open to individuals eager to progress and develop their careers. With more than 33,600 man-days of training each year, the House of Training is a major player in the field of continuous vocational training in Luxembourg.
