Research contents:

In WP2, the concept of NetZero energy building with low exergy system will be developed and specified with energy-efficient industrialized construction concepts and products for Chinese housing market, including rural housing and urban apartment buildings. Analysis of the performance of the NetZero energy building concepts will be carried out in terms of energy-efficiency and environmental impacts and indoor climate: indoor air quality and thermal comfort. WP2 will conduct a survey on current status, experiences and know how regarding the implementation of NetZero energy building in China with various climate.

Figure below shows the advanced solar low energy house with online audit system, which was constructed in earlier project. All the experience gained from the solar low energy house will be used to create more feasible concept of NetZero energy building.

Tasks:

  • Definitions of performance indicators for NetZero energy buildings and state of the art of technology and technology acceptance

  • Low exergy heating system for rural areas including furnace or biomass, eco fibber insulation system

  • Ground source heat pump with VRV system

  • Energy management and audit of NetZero energy building

  • Energy potential mapping, e.g. ground source energy, energy storage

  • Creation of indoor climate classification for warm/humid climates

  • Development of guideline and design principles of NetZero energy buildings

Results:

WP2 will deliver quantitative results using both passive strategies and active measures to ensure the implementation of NetZero energy building concept. The results will include: the concept of NetZero energy building with low exergy system; development of design principles for practical cases implementing the concept of NetZero energy building; low exergy systems technical design and dimensioning of heat/cool generation utilizing ground source energy under different climate conditions.
