NWBC 2012

The international event, Nordic Wood Biorefinery Conference (NWBC), is the leading meeting forum for wood biorefinery professionals. The next event will be held in Helsinki in October, 2012. This conference is jointly organised by VTT and Innventia. The conference language will be English.

Helsinki is the most liveable city in the world
The British magazine Monocle’s “The Liveable Cities Index 2011” listed Helsinki as the most liveable city in the world. The ranking emphasised, among others, the city’s round-the-clock functionality, its combination of old and new architecture and the role of nature in the urban space.
Helsinki is the World Design Capital for 2012
The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design has designated
Helsinki as the World Design Capital for 2012. In addition, New York Times has
ranked Helsinki second (after Panama) in their recent travel article "The
45 Places to Go in 2012".
Related events
The NWBC 2012 organisers also wish to mention another biorefinery-related event to be held in Finland in August 2012, EWLP 2012. This event is of more fundamental nature than the NWBC 2012 conference. An AEBIOM event in Brussels in June 2012 focuses on bioenergy production.
