Genomics and High-Throughput Technologies in Biomedicine Symposium

The multidisciplinary fusions represented by “genomics and high-throughput technologies” have rapidly advanced our understanding of the basis of human well-being contra disease states. Genomics studies at the cellular level constitute an expanding foundation in the era of “biomedicine” aimed at advancing systems biology for medical applications. Similarly, micro-scale technologies have drastically increased speed of discovery and innovations in biomedicine. Exploitation and mastering of these principles is bound to generate a competitive opportunity in the bio-industry market, including for development of novel therapeutics and diagnostics. 

This symposium gathers world-leading scientists for the purpose of hearing and discussing their views in the research area covered by the symposium title. A particular aim is to promote future ties and cooperation among the institutions represented by the invited speakers, including from Finland, Sweden and the USA. The aim of coverage of disciplines from “bench to bedside” in medical care constitutes a forum for scientists from academic and industrial organizations, as well as those involved in forming decisions on future Finnish research strategies.
