The international EnterGROW research project aims at advancing innovation
policy and research by studying how newcomer entry creates business and niche
growth at different stages of ecosystem development.
In analysing the interplay between newcomer firms and ecosystems, the novelty
of our approach is threefold: first of all we take an ecosystem entrant
perspective, secondly we link major innovations to ecosystems and thirdly we
re-assess the strategic decision level of the firm.
The project will run between March 2014 and February 2016 and will address the
following research questions:
What are the key drivers and barriers to newcomer growth at different
ecosystem development stages?
How newcomers’ strategic decision making for gaining niche growth shapes and
is shaped by different stages of the ecosystem lifecycle?
What is the role of research system and innovation policy measures for
newcomers in ecosystems?
The project is constructed based on a vibrant cooperation with Prof. Mirjam Knockaert of the University of Ghent in Belgium and the Dr.
