2nd Joint Nordic Fusion Energy Seminar 2017
combining the Annual FinnFusion Seminar 2017
Date: 15–16 June 2017
Place: VTT, Otaniemi, GTK Auditorium (Betonimiehenkuja 4, 02150 Espoo) and MIKES Building (Tekniikantie 1, 02150 Espoo)
Fusion energy research and development is focusing on creating the first nuclear fusion reactor. The goal of the worldwide R&D programme with ITER is to create a nuclear fusion power plant in Europe. EUROfusion Consortium is implementing the fusion research activities in the Euratom Fusion Programme in Horizon 2020 and Fusion for Energy (F4E) to procure ITER components and R&D.
The Joint Nordic Fusion Seminar represents the fusion research activities in the Swedish, Danish and Finnish fusion research units. The meeting has been planned in tight collaboration between the fusion of research units of Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The first Joint Nordic Fusion Seminar took place at the Royal institute of Technology ("Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, KTH") in central Stockholm in June 2014.
The seminar offers an ideal forum to search for the synergy effects in the scientific and technological fusion projects performed among the Swedish, Danish and Finnish fusion research units. Dedicated breakout sessions will be organised to tighten and search for new common research topics of joint interests.
