Better preconditions for the independent living should be created for the
elderly, but how? How can safe and secure service and housing solutions be
ensured? And what about the ethics? How are the seniors served in 2030?
These questions are to be answered in the TEKES (The Finnish Funding Agency
for Technology and Innovation) research project “The Future Care Home – Safety
Services for the Senior-aged ” which is a cooperation of VTT Technical
Research Centre of Finland, TTS – Työtehoseura (Work Efficiency Institute),
several companies and municipalities.
As a result of the research project various product and service concepts will
be created to add to the safety and ensure the survival of independently at
their own homes residing elderly. Also assisted living residences are
concerned in the outcomes of the research project.
The outcoming methods and safety services are aimed to support the commercial
cooperation, new service concept innovation and risk management of both
private and public sector. The cooperation will benefit both service providers
and those buying the services as well as private customers and municipalities
comparing the available services.
