ValueSSe - The Value of Corporate Security Services



The main object of ValueSSe (The Value of Corporate Security Services) research project is to develop methodology and tools for defining and describing the value of corporate security services. This is achieved by creating concepts for business network, supporting the consideration of earning principles and analysing the logic of pricing related to corporate security.

The ValueSSe project is consisted of two partitions: the research study and the development project carried out with a group of 10 security business partners (G4S Security Services Oy, Granite Partners Oy, Niscayah Oy, Outokumpu Oyj, Verifi Oy, Palmia (City of Helsinki), City of Espoo, Pelco Finland Oy, Otso Palvelut Oy and Flexim Security Oy). The project has just started and the duration is three years (April 2009 - May 2012). Project implementation is separated to seven work packages:

  • WP 1: Value perceptions related to security and safety
  • WP 2: Risk management concerning security services and solutions
  • WP 3: Earning principles and logics of pricing in security business
  • WP 4: Models of value creation in security service business
  • WP 5: Concepts for business network
  • WP 6: Developing and testing methods and tools
  • WP 7: Project management, dissemination and quality assurance

The research partners are Helsinki School of Economics (main coordinator of the project) and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. The project is funded by Tekes (the Finnish funding agency for technology and innovation). The company group is co-ordinated by Innovation Research Development Tamlink Ltd and the chair of the board is representing Finnsecurity ry (a registered security association in Finland).
